Crystal became the winner of the “Capital Market Support Program”. The company received a special award at the closing event of the CMS program for the issuance of certified gender bonds in the capital market.
Crystal is the first financial institution in Georgia to issue certified gender bonds. The transaction aimed to increase access to finances for female entrepreneurs, to provide funding for their MSME businesses, to facilitate economic empowerment of women and promote gender equality in Georgia.
The project seeks to promote the development of the capital market in the country. As part of the program, Crystal has obtained a significant grant to finance the transaction related costs. The capital market support program was launched a year and a half ago by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with the financial support of the European Union. Consulting work was performed by Galt & Taggart, together with BDO Georgia. Upon the completion of the 18-month program, 7 winners were identified.
